While traveling this weekend on one of my favorite airlines, Southwest, their Spirit magazine introduced me to a new word: ecotistical. This word really struck a chord with me and, I kept thinking about how it applies to small businesses. It’s clear that a small business owner’s success is due, in large parts, to tenacity and elbow grease, but there is also confidence at play. As a small business owner, you have to be the all-in-one cheerleader, head coach, linebacker, and running back – encouraging, strategizing, protecting and, finally, scoring for your business. By adding ACH payments to your operation, you can add environmental responsibility to your repertoire as well (would that be the referee?).
ACH payments, otherwise known as echecks, can encourage growth, protect your bottom line, and provide an easier and cheaper way to process payments – all while saving a few trees. Here are just a few ways businesses add more green with ACH:
- Lower fees than credit cards: Depending on the amount, you can pay less for the transaction, keeping more greenbacks where you want them.
- Less paper checks = more trees: And if you use electronic invoices, even more green gets to stay in the rainforests.
- Fewer greenhouse gas emissions: Your checks are already deposited in your bank, so unless you’d like a free lollipop, there’s no need to drive to the bank!
Your inner ecotist will thank you and your business for offering the greenest alternatives to greenbacks: ACH payments.
