Adobe Photoshop is arguably one of the best and most robust digital image editing applications available. But, it has so many cool (and often complicated) features, that most basic users don’t even scratch the surface of its full capabilities. However, they feel compelled to buy it because it performs the functions they do need so well.

As a small business owner, you know you need to keep an eye on the bottom line– and you don’t want to pay for things you don’t need. So, instead of investing in the (expensive) full Photoshop program, try using the web-based Photoshop Express instead.

When you register for a Photoshop Express account (If you have an existing Adobe ID, you can use it and won’t need a second account.), you get full access to the web-based application. It provides most of the Photoshop features you’ll need, including image resizing, cropping, and rotation; photo touch-up, color, brightness, contrast, and focus correction; image effects such as tinting and distortion; as well as the ability to add text, icons, pre-made stamps, and frames. The one limitation is that it only supports jpg images.

With your free account you can save up to 2GB of data in an online Adobe folder, and can share your images with others. Of course, you can use the program on an unlimited number of images, as long as you store them elsewhere– on your computer, or in an online album hosted by Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, or Photobucket.
