Eric Remer founded and currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PaySimple. Prior to PaySimple, Eric founded Conclave Group, a direct marketing services company, where he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Eric also co-founded and served as the Vice President of Business and Strategic Development for I-Behavior, a leading behavioral targeting and database marketing organization. I-Behavior sold its online division, Acerno, to Akamai and its offline data division to the KBM Group.
Eric began his career working in investment banking at Kidder, Peabody & Company. Eric graduated with a B.A. in history from the University of Michigan.
Matt Feierstein, PaySimple's President and Chief Operating Officer, oversees the company's holistic business operations. He has over fifteen years of cross functional management experience in the online software space, including four years at IAC's Pronto division where he last served as the Chief Operating Officer, and was responsible for the company's revenue and acquisition goals. Prior to Pronto, Matt's experience also includes senior management roles at several small business start-ups in both the service and retail industries.
Matt began his career at Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch in a variety of business roles, last serving as the Senior Director of Customer Product Management. Matt has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
Marc Thompson is the Chief Financial Officer at PaySimple, responsible for supporting the company’s growth initiatives, driving its capitalization strategy, and overseeing the finance and accounting organizations. Marc has over 25 years of investment banking, private equity, and operational experience. Most recently, Marc was co-head of Investment Banking at Oppenheimer & Co, where he also formed the Software & Services team that executed over 120 financing and M&A transactions valued in excess of $15 billion. Prior to Oppenheimer, he was a managing director at CIBC Capital Partners and served on several portfolio company boards, advising on acquisitions and debt financing.
Marc holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College.
David joined PaySimple in 2007 and leads the sales and customer success organizations. David has over 20 years of experience in the payments and software industry, most recently as Vice President of the Western Region for Global Payments. During his career, he has engaged in sales and business development for payment network processing, agent bank and ISO programs, as well as a variety of alternative payment solutions.
David has served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army following graduation from the Defense Language Institute. David holds a BBA in International Business from the University of Georgia.
Chris Alaimo is the CTO at PaySimple, responsible for leading a high-energy team of software developers, IT professionals, and QA experts who love to build great products for small businesses. He has over 15 years of experience managing engineering teams at both enterprise companies and startups. Chris also co-founded ProStor Systems, which supplied backup and archiving solutions to Dell, HP, IBM, and others. He's passionate about building great teams and great software.
Chris has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Elissa is passionate about scaling people functions at tech startups and recently rejoined PaySimple as the Chief People Officer. She oversees recruiting, onboarding, culture, benefits, performance, and team member learning and development. Prior to returning to PaySimple, she grew and led the People/HR functions at several high growth Chicago-based tech companies. Most recently she was the Head of Talent & HR at SpotHero, the leading online parking reservation service, and prior to that she was the Head of Talent Management at Avant, an online lending platform that has 800+ employees and has raised over $1 billion in capital. Prior to Avant, she worked as the Director of People at Belly, and was formerly VP of Empowerment at PaySimple. Elissa holds a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, where she played varsity sports, and a M.S.L.A. from the University of Denver.
Scott Thompson is the CEO of ShopRunner. He has a record of deep industry experience, having most recently served as CEO of Yahoo. Prior to that, Scott was President of PayPal with overall responsibility for establishing that company as the leading global online payment service. Prior to PayPal, he was Executive Vice President of Technology Solutions at Inovant, a subsidiary of Visa formed to oversee global technology for the organization. Thompson was also Chief Information Officer of Barclays Global Investors, where he implemented a new strategic technology platform and global infrastructure. In addition, he was a partner with Coopers & Lybrand.
Jed is the Senior Vice President of Revenue for Yelp, where he is responsible for leading the rapidly growing sales, client services, and revenue operations groups, which span across four domestic locations and Europe. Prior to Yelp, Jed spent seven years in senior sales roles for Yahoo! HotJobs, and most recently as Director of Corporate Sales for the Western Region. He began his career in the Venture Services Group of investment bank Robertson Stephens. Jed holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Colorado.
Mark Hastings is a managing director and head of Providence Strategic Growth. Prior to joining Providence Strategic Growth in 2013, he most recently served as managing partner and founder of Garvin Hill Capital Partners. Prior to spinning out of CIBC to form Garvin Hill in 2009, Mark led CIBC’s technology focused growth equity team in the United States. At CIBC, he developed the successful investment strategy and recruited the team. He was the primary deal originator and investment team leader. Prior to joining CIBC, he was a principal and general partner at BCI Partners. Mark started his investment career at Edison Ventures.

John Marquis is a vice president on the Providence Strategic Growth team. Prior to joining Providence Strategic Growth in 2014, John was an associate at Needham & Company where he advised on 20+ transactions including: mergers & acquisitions, initial public offerings, strategic advisory assignments and other public and private capital raises. Previously, he was an analyst at Citigroup in investment banking strategy.
John holds a B.S. from Boston College
John Clancy is a managing director on the Providence Strategic Growth team. John has over 20 years of experience in building high-growth, market-leading software and technology enabled businesses. Prior to joining Providence, John was the president of Radius Worldwide, the leading provider of international business services and software. Previously, he was the CEO and president of Azuki Systems, now part of Ericsson, a leading provider of video delivery to mobile devices. John was also the president of Iron Mountain Digital, where he grew revenue from $40 million to $250 million over a 5-year period. Prior to Iron Mountain, he was the COO at Connected Corporation, an early pioneer in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) market and leader in PC data protection.
