Team Merrill Lynch/PaySimple will ride in the MS 150 Bike Tour to create awareness about MS and to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
DENVER, CO, June 25, 2007 – PaySimple, an industry-leading provider of payment management solutions for businesses, is teaming up with Merrill Lynch to ride in the Great-West Life MS 150 Bike Tour, recently awarded the Bicyclists’ Choice Awards’ Bicycle Event of the Year. An estimated 100,000 cyclists will join together for 100 tours across 48 states in the months of April through November to raise money for the fight against MS
Team Merrill Lynch PaySimple will be riding in the Colorado chapter tour. Last year, this chapter had 2,800 race participants who raised over $2 million, and this year the new goal is to raise $2.5 million. The ride encompasses 150 miles over two days, starting July 7, 2007. Cyclists will ride 75 miles from outer Denver, Colorado to Ft. Collins, Colorado and will return to Denver the following day. Though each rider has a minimum pledge commitment of $300, the average rider raised $880 in 2006. Team Merrill Lynch PaySimple’s 16 riders have a group goal of raising $10,000 in pledges.
“We’re excited to join together with Merrill Lynch to support this great cause. With riders, volunteers, and fundraisers, the MS 150 unites the Colorado community in enjoyment of our beautiful state and in support of the fight against MS,” said Jeff Gardner, President of PaySimple and the company’s lead rider.
“I am personally excited to be able to participate in this great event. Besides having a great time doing what we enjoy, we are raising money to support people we know who have multiple sclerosis. I am delighted to be able to partner with PaySimple and I am very excited about the impact our team can have in the fight against MS,” said Jamey Mills, Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch in Denver.
With 82 cents of every dollar raised going to the cause, the MS 150 Bike Tour is an efficient and fun way to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The event not only generates needed funds for society programs and creates awareness for the cause, but it also inspires and gives hope to those living with MS every day.
