When I started PaySimple 10 years ago, my intention was to create a platform where stars could shine within our walls and outside of our company and to ultimately make the lives of business owners easier.

We’ve come along way in the last ten years. We have developed an amazing team and grown a platform that is making a difference in business owners’ lives.

As we grew, we started thinking about service businesses differently—from professional services to fitness centers, schools, and contractors. The more we saw, the more we learned that typical retail solutions don’t fit relationship-style businesses, and that gap was holding these businesses back.

Two years ago, the idea for what we’ve been calling Service Commerce was born. I’m so excited to see this idea take off, and see more and more focus on this space from other companies as well. In the same way that retail businesses have benefited from the growth of eCommerce, service businesses owners will benefit from service commerce innovations that will bring them closer and closer to a life that moves in a fluid motion–from work to home, to play. Their lives will get easier as their businesses flow more effectively.

It’s an exciting time for our company and others looking to help service-based businesses, with all the unique use cases they have—use cases that are so different from retail and eCommerce. These businesses have a ton of complexity in their sales processes and need to do everything from scheduling appointments to sending invoices, to accepting payments, to creating payment plans, to marketing, to retaining their customers. And then try to find time to still have a life.

PaySimple is perfectly aligned and situated to solve for this entire experience with what we’ve already created. That’s where the world is going for service commerce businesses and where we want to take them.

To service business owners everywhere: You’re growing the backbone of our economy by putting your relationships and customers first—push for better solutions, you deserve them.
